  1 aIn You, O LORD°, I have taken° refuge°;
  Let me never°° bbe ashamed°;
  cIn Your righteousness° deliver° me.
  2 aIncline° Your ear° to me, rescue° me quickly°;
  Be to me a brock° of Istrength°,
  A stronghold° to save° me.
  3 For You are my Irock° and amy fortress°;
  For bYour name’s° sake° You will lead° me and guide° me.
  4 You will apull° me out of the net° which° they have secretly° laid° for me,
  For You are my bstrength°.
  5 aInto Your hand° I commit° my spirit°;
  You have bransomed° me, O LORD°, cGod° of Itruth°.

  6 ¶ I hate° those who aregard° Ivain° idols°,
  But I btrust° in the LORD°.
  7 I will arejoice° and be glad° in Your lovingkindness°,
  Because° You have bseen° my affliction°;
  You have known° the troubles° of my soul°,
  8 And You have not agiven° me over° into the hand° of the enemy°;
  You have set° my feet° in a large° place°.

  And cmy Ibody° has wasted° away°.
  11 Because° of all° my adversaries°, I have become° a areproach°,
  Especially° to my bneighbors°,
  And an object° of dread° to my acquaintances°;
  Those who see° me in the street° flee° from me.
  12 I am aforgotten° as a dead° man°, out of mind°;
  I am° like a broken° vessel°.
  13 For I have heard° the Iaslander° of many°,
  bTerror° is on every° side°;
  While they ctook° counsel° together° against° me,
  They dschemed° to take° away my life°.

  14 ¶ But as for me, I trust° in You, O LORD°,
  I say°, “aYou are my God°.”
  15 My atimes° are in Your hand°;
  bDeliver° me from the hand° of my enemies° and from those who persecute° me.
  16 Make Your aface° to shine° upon Your servant°;
  bSave° me in Your lovingkindness°.
  17 Let me not be aput° to shame°, O LORD°, for I call° upon You;
  Let the bwicked° be put° to shame°, let them cbe silent° in ISheol°.
  18 Let the alying° lips° be mute°,
  Which bspeak° arrogantly° against° the righteous°
  With pride° and contempt°.

  19 ¶ How° great° is Your agoodness°,
  Which° You have stored° up for those who fear° You,
  Which You have wrought° for those who btake° refuge° in You,

  20 You hide° them in the asecret° place° of Your presence° from the bconspiracies° of man°;
  You keep° them secretly° in a Ishelter° from the cstrife° of tongues°.
  21 aBlessed° be the LORD°,
  For He has made° bmarvelous° His lovingkindness° to me in a besieged° ccity°.
  22 As for me, aI said° in my alarm°,
  “I am bcut° off° from before° Your eyes°”;
  Nevertheless° You cheard° the voice° of my supplications°
  When I cried° to You.

He rejoiceth in his mercy.

7 I will be gladºª and rejoiceºª in thy mercy:º for² thou hast consideredºª² my trouble;º thou hast knownºª my soulº in adversities;º 8 And hast not² shut me upºª into the handº of the enemy:ºª thou hast setºª my feetº in a large room.º

He prayeth in his calamity.

9 Have mercyºª upon me, O LORD,º for² I am in trouble:¹ª² mine eyeº is consumedºª with grief,º [yea], my soulº and my belly.º 10 For² my lifeº is spentºª with grief,º and my yearsº with sighing:º my strengthº failethºª because of mine iniquity,º and my bonesº are consumed.ºª 11 I was² a reproachº among all²² mine enemies,ºª but especiallyº among my neighbours,º and a fearº to mine acquaintance:ºª they that did seeºª me withoutº fledºª from² me. 12 I am forgottenºª as a dead manºª out of mind:º² I am² like a brokenºª vessel.º 13 For² I have heardºª the slanderº of many:º fearº [was] on every side:º² while they took counselºª togetherº against² me, they devisedºª to take awayºª my life.º 14 But I² trustedºª in² thee, O LORD:º I said,ºª Thou² [art] my God.º 15 My timesº [are] in thy hand:º deliverºª me from the handº² of mine enemies,ºª and from them that persecuteºª² me. 16 Make thy faceº to shineºª upon² thy servant:º saveºª me for thy mercies'º sake. 17 Let me not² be ashamed,ºª O LORD;º for² I have called¹ª upon² thee: let the wickedº be ashamed,ºª [and] let them be silentºª in the grave.º 18 Let the lyingº lipsº be put to silence;ºª which speakºª grievous¹ things² proudlyº and contemptuouslyº against² the righteous.º

He praiseth God for his goodness.

19 [Oh] how² greatº [is] thy goodness,º which² thou hast laid upºª for them that fearº thee; [which] thou hast wroughtºª for them that trustºª in thee before² the sonsº of men!º 20 Thou shalt hideºª them in the secretº of thy presenceº from the prideº² of man:º thou shalt keep them secretlyºª in a pavilionº from the strifeº² of tongues.º 21 Blessedºª [be] the LORD:º for² he hath shewed me his marvellous¹ª kindnessº² in a strongº city.º 22 For I² saidºª in my haste,ºª I am cut offºª from beforeº² thine eyes:º neverthelessº thou heardestºª the voiceº of my supplicationsº when I criedºª unto² thee. 23 O loveºª² the LORD,º all² ye his saints:º [for] the LORDº preservethºª the faithful,ºª and plentifullyº² rewardethºª the proudº doer.ºª 24 Be of good courage,ºª and he shall strengthenºª your heart,º all² ye that hopeºª in the LORD.º
