8 Thou hast broughtºª a vineº out of Egypt:º² thou hast cast outºª the heathen,º and plantedºª it. 9 Thou preparedstºª [room] beforeº it, and didst cause it to take deep¹ root,ºª² and it filledºª the land.º 10 The hillsº were coveredºª with the shadowº of it, and the boughsº thereof [were like] the goodlyº cedars.º 11 She sent outºª her boughsº unto² the sea,º and her branchesº unto² the river.º 12 Why² hast thou [then] broken downºª her hedges,º so that all² they which pass¹ª by² the wayº do pluckºª her? 13 The boarº out of the woodº² doth wasteºª it, and the wild beastº of the fieldº doth devourºª it.
