The Kingdom of Christ.

1 ¶ Why² do the heathenº rage,ºª and the peopleº imagineºª a vain thing?º 2 The kingsº of the earthº set¹ª themselves,² and the rulersºª take counselºª together,º against² the LORD,º and against² his anointed,º [saying], 3 Let us break¹ª their bands¹ asunder,ºª²² and cast awayºª their cordsº from² us. 4 He that sittethºª in the heavensº shall laugh:ºª the Lordº shall have them in derision.ºª 5 Then² shall he speakºª unto² them in his wrath,º and vexºª them in his sore displeasure.º 6 Yet have I² setºª my kingº upon² my holyº hillº of Zion.º 7 I will declareºª² the decree:º the LORDº hath saidºª unto² me, Thou² [art] my Son;º this dayº have I² begottenºª thee. 8 Askºª of² me, and I shall giveºª [thee] the heathenº [for] thine inheritance,º and the uttermost partsº of the earthº [for] thy possession.º 9 Thou shalt breakºª them with a rodº of iron;º thou shalt dash them in piecesºª like a potter'sºª vessel.º
