  1 I acry° aloud° with my voice° to the LORD°;
  I bmake° supplication° with my voice° to the LORD°.
  2 I apour° out my complaint° before° Him;
  I declare° my btrouble° before° Him.
  3 When amy spirit° Iwas overwhelmed° within° me,
  You knew° my path°.
  In the way° where° I walk°
  They have bhidden° a trap° for me.
  4 Look° to the right° and see°;
  For there° is ano° one° who regards° me;
  IThere is no° bescape° for me;
  cNo° one° cares° for my soul°.

  Deliver° me from my persecutors°,
  For they are too° cstrong° for me.
  7 “aBring° my soul° out of prison°,
  So that I may give° thanks° to Your name°;
  The righteous° will surround° me,
  For You will bdeal° bountifully° with me.”

David sheweth that in his trouble all his comfort was in prayer unto God.

1 ¶ [[Maschilº ª of David;º A Prayerº when he was² in the cave.]]º I criedº ª unto² the LORDº with my voice;º with my voiceº unto² the LORDº did I make my supplication.º ª 2 I poured outº ª my complaintº beforeº him; I shewedº ª beforeº him my trouble.º 3 When my spiritº was overwhelmedº ª within² me, then thou² knewestº ª my path.º In the wayº whereinº I walkedº ª have they privily laidº ª a snareº for me. 4 I lookedº ª on [my] right hand,º and beheld,º ª but [there was] no man² that would knowº ª me: refugeº failedº ª ² me; no man² caredº ª for my soul.º 5 I criedº ª unto² thee, O LORD:º I said,º ª Thou² [art] my refugeº [and] my portionº in the landº of the living.º 6 Attendº ª unto² my cry;º for² I am brought¹ ª very¹ low:º ª ² deliverº ª me from my persecutors;º ª ² for² they are strongerº ª than² I. 7 Bring¹ ª my soul¹ out² ² of prison,º ² that I may praiseº ª ² thy name:º the righteousº shall compass me about;º ª for² thou shalt deal bountifullyº ª with² me.
