Message to Egypt

1 The Iaoracle° concerning bEgypt°.
  Behold°, the LORD° is criding° on a swift° cloud° and is about to come° to Egypt°;
  The didols° of Egypt° will tremble° at His presence°,
  And the eheart° of the Egyptians° will melt° within° them.
  2 “So I will incite° Egyptians° against Egyptians°;
  And they will aeach° fight° against his brother° and each° against his neighbor°,
  City° against city° [and] kingdom° against kingdom°.
  3 “Then the spirit° of the Egyptians° will be demoralized° within° them;
  And I will confound° their strategy°,
  So that athey will resort° to idols° and ghosts° of the dead°
  And to Imediums° and spiritists°.
  4 “Moreover, I will deliver° the Egyptians° into the hand° of a acruel° master°,
  And a Imighty° king° will rule° over them,” declares° the Lord° IIGOD° of hosts°.

  11 ¶ The princes° of IaZoan° are mere° fools°;
  The advice° of Pharaoh’s° wisest° advisers° has become° IIstupid°.
  How° can you [men] say° to Pharaoh°,
  “I am a son° of the bwise°, a son° of ancient° kings°”?
  12 Well° then°, where° are your wise° men°?
  Please° let them tell° you,
  And let them Iunderstand° what° the LORD° of hosts°
  Has apurposed° against° Egypt°.
  13 The princes° of IZoan° have acted° foolishly°,

16 ¶ In that day° the Egyptians° will become° like women°, and they will tremble° and be in adread° because°° of the bwaving° of the hand° of the LORD° of hosts°, which° He is going to wave° over° them. 17 The land° of Judah° will become° a Iterror° to Egypt°; everyone° IIto whom° it is mentioned° will be in dread° of it, because°° of the apurpose° of the LORD° of hosts° which° He is purposing° against° them.

The confusion of Egypt.

1 ¶ The burdenº of Egypt.º Behold,² the LORDº ridethºª upon² a swiftº cloud,º and shall comeºª into Egypt:º and the idolsº of Egyptº shall be movedºª at his presence,º² and the heartº of Egyptº shall meltºª in the midstº of it. 2 And I will setºª the Egyptiansº against the Egyptians:º and they shall fightºª every oneº against his brother,º and every oneº against his neighbour;º cityº against city,º [and] kingdomº against kingdom.º 3 And the spiritº of Egyptº shall failºª in the midstº thereof; and I will destroyºª the counselº thereof: and they shall seekºª to² the idols,º and to² the charmers,º and to² them that have familiar spirits,º and to² the wizards.º 4 Andº the Egyptiansº will I give overºª into the handº of a cruelº lord;º and a fierceº kingº shall ruleºª over them, saithºª the Lord,º the LORDº of hosts.º 5 And the watersº shall failºª from the sea,º² and the riverº shall be wastedºª and dried up.ºª 6 And they shall turn¹ª the rivers¹ far away;ºª² [and] the brooksº of defence¹² shall be emptiedºª and dried up:ºª the reedsº and flagsº shall wither.ºª 7 The paper reedsº by² the brooks,º by² the mouthº of the brooks,º and every thing² sownº by the brooks,º shall wither,ºª be driven away,ºª and be no² [more]. 8 The fishersº also shall mourn,ºª and all² they that castºª angleº into the brooksº shall lament,ºª and they that spreadºª netsº uponº² the watersº shall languish.ºª 9 Moreover they that workºª in fineº flax,º and they that weaveºª networks,º shall be confounded.ºª 10 And they shall be² brokenºª in the purposesº thereof, all² that makeºª sluicesº [and] ponds¹² for fish.º

The foolishness of their princes.

11 ¶ Surely² the princesº of Zoanº [are] fools,º the counselº of the wiseº counsellorsºª of Pharaohº is become brutish:ºª how² sayºª ye unto² Pharaoh,º I² [am] the sonº of the wise,º the sonº of ancientº kings?º 12 Whereº [are] they? whereº [are] thy wiseº [men]? and let them tellºª thee now,² and let them knowºª what² the LORDº of hostsº hath purposedºª upon² Egypt.º 13 The princesº of Zoanº are become fools,ºª the princesº of Nophº are deceived;ºª they have also seducedºª² Egypt,º [even they that are] the stayº of the tribesº thereof. 14 The LORDº hath mingledºª a perverseº spiritº in the midstº thereof: and they have caused² Egyptº to errºª in every² workº thereof, as a drunkenº [man] staggerethºª in his vomit.º 15 Neither² shall there be² [any] workº for Egypt,º which² the headº or tail,º branchº or rush,º may do.ºª 16 In that² dayº shall Egyptº be² like unto women:º and it shall be afraidºª and fearºª becauseº² of the shakingº of the handº of the LORDº of hosts,º which² he² shakethºª over² it. 17 And the landº of Judahº shall be² a terrorº unto Egypt,º every one² that² maketh mentionºª thereof shall be afraidºª in² himself, becauseº² of the counselº of the LORDº of hosts,º which² he² hath determinedºª against² it.

The calling of Egypt to the Church.

The covenant of Egypt, Assyria, and Israel.
