NASB — Isaiah 15 — KJV

Judgment on Moab

1 The Ioracle° concerning aMoab°.
  Surely° in a night° bAr° of Moab° is devastated° [and] ruined°;
  Surely° in a night° Kir° of Moab° is devastated° [and] ruined°.
  2 They have gone° up to the Itemple° and [to] aDibon°, [even] to the high° places° to weep°.
  Moab° wails° over° Nebo° and Medeba°;
  Everyone’s° head° is bbald° [and] every° beard° is cut° off°.
  3 In their streets° they have girded° themselves with asackcloth°;
  bOn their housetops° and in their squares°
  Everyone° is wailing°, Icdissolved° in tears°.
  4 aHeshbon° and Elealeh° also cry° out,
  Their voice° is heard° all° the way° to Jahaz°;
  Therefore°° the Iarmed° men of Moab° cry° aloud°;
  His soul° trembles° within him.
  5 My heart° cries° out for Moab°;
  His fugitives° are as far° as aZoar° [and] Eglath-shelishiyah°°,
  For they go° up the bascent° of Luhith° weeping°;
  Surely° on the road° to Horonaim° they raise° a cry° of distress° cover [their] ruin°.
  6 For the awaters° of Nimrim° are Idesolate°.
  Surely° the grass° is withered°, the tender° grass° IIdied° out,
  There is bno° green° thing°.
  7 Therefore°° the aabundance° [which] they have acquired° and stored° up
  They carry° off over° the brook° of IArabim°.
  8 For the cry° of distress° has gone° around° the territory° of Moab°,
  Its wail° [goes] as far° as Eglaim° and its wailing° even to Beer-elim°.
  9 For the waters° of Dimon° are full° of Iblood°;
  Surely° I will bring° added° [woes] upon Dimon°,
  A alion° upon the fugitives° of Moab° and upon the remnant° of the land°.

The lamentable state of Moab.

1 ¶ The burdenº of Moab.º Because² in the nightº Arº of Moabº is laid waste,ºª [and] brought to silence;ºª because² in the nightº Kirº of Moabº is laid waste,ºª [and] brought to silence;ºª 2 He is gone upºª to Bajith,º and to Dibon,º the high places,º to weep:º Moabº shall howlºª over² Nebo,º and over² Medeba:º on all² their headsº [shall be] baldness,º [and] every² beardº cut off.¹ª² 3 In their streetsº they shall girdºª themselves with sackcloth:º on² the tops¹ of their houses,² and in their streets,º every one² shall howl,ºª weepingº abundantly.ºª 4 And Heshbonº shall cry,ºª and Elealeh:º their voiceº shall be heardºª [even] unto² Jahaz:º therefore²² the armed soldiersºª of Moabº shall cry out;ºª his lifeº shall be grievousºª unto him. 5 My heartº shall cry² out¹ª for Moab;º his fugitivesº [shall flee] unto² Zoar,º an heiferº of three years old:º for² by the mounting upº of Luhithº with weepingº shall they go it up;ºª for² in the wayº of Horonaimº they shall raise upºª a cryº of destruction.º 6 For² the watersº of Nimrimº shall be² desolate:º for² the hayº is withered away,ºª the grassº faileth,ºª there is² no² green thing.º 7 Therefore²² the abundanceº they have gotten,ºª and that which they have laid up,º shall they carry awayºª to² the brookº of the willows.º 8 For² the cryº is gone round² about¹ª² the bordersº of Moab;º the howling¹² thereof unto² Eglaim,º and the howling¹² thereof unto Beerelim.º 9 For² the watersº of Dimonº shall be fullºª of blood:º for² I will bringºª moreºª upon² Dimon,º lionsº upon him that escapethº of Moab,º and upon the remnantº of the land.º
