The rites and sacrifices in cleansing of the leper.

1 ¶ And the LORDº spakeºª unto² Moses,º saying,ºª 2 This² shall be² the lawº of the leperºª in the dayº of his cleansing:º He shall be broughtºª unto² the priest:º 3 And the priestº shall go forthºª out¹ of²²² the camp;º and the priestº shall look,ºª and, behold,² [if] the plagueº of leprosyº be healedºª in² the leper;ºª 4 Then shall the priestº commandºª to takeºª for him that is to be cleansedºª twoº birdsº aliveº [and] clean,º and cedarº wood,º and scarlet,ºº and hyssop:º 5 And the priestº shall commandºª² that oneº of the birdsº be killedºª in² an earthenº vesselº over² runningº water:º 6 As for² the livingº bird,º he shall takeºª it, and the cedarº wood,º and the scarlet,ºº and the hyssop,º and shall dipºª them and the livingº birdº in the bloodº of the birdº [that was] killedºª over² the runningº water:º 7 And he shall sprinkleºª upon² him that is to be cleansedºª from² the leprosyº sevenº times,º and shall pronounce him clean,ºª and shall let² the livingº birdº looseºª into² the openº field.º 8 And he that is to be cleansedºª shall washºª² his clothes,º and shave¹ª off²² all² his hair,º and washºª himself in water,º that he may be clean:ºª and after¹ that² he shall comeºª into² the camp,º and shall tarryºª abroadº² out of his tentº sevenº days.º 9 But it shall be² on the seventhº day,º that he shall shave¹ª all his hair¹ offº²²² his headº and his beardº and his eyebrows,ºº even all² his hairº he shall shave¹ª off:² and he shall washºª² his clothes,º also he shall washºª² his fleshº in water,º and he shall be clean.ºª 10 And on the eighthº dayº he shall takeºª twoº he lambsº without blemish,º and oneº ewe lambº of the firstº yearº without blemish,º and threeº tenth dealsº of fine flourº [for] a meat offering,º mingledºª with oil,º and oneº logº of oil.º 11 And the priestº that maketh [him] cleanºª shall presentºª² the manº that is to be made clean,ºª and those things, beforeº the LORD,º [at] the doorº of the tabernacleº of the congregation:º 12 And the priestº shall takeºª² oneº he lamb,º and offerºª him for a trespass offering,º and the logº of oil,º and waveºª them [for] a wave offeringº beforeº the LORD:º 13 And he shall slayºª² the lambº in the placeº where² he shall killºª² the sin offeringº and the burnt offering,º in the holyº place:º for² as the sin offeringº [is] the priest's,º [so is] the trespass offering:º it² [is] most¹ holy:º 14 And the priestº shall takeºª [some] of the bloodº² of the trespass offering,º and the priestº shall putºª [it] upon² the tipº of the rightº earº of him that is to be cleansed,ºª and upon² the thumbº of his rightº hand,º and upon² the great toeº of his rightº foot:º 15 And the priestº shall takeºª [some] of the logº² of oil,º and pourºª [it] into² the palmº of his ownº left hand:º 16 And the priestº shall dipºª² his rightº fingerº in² the oilº that² [is] in² his leftº hand,º and shall sprinkleºª of² the oilº with his fingerº sevenº timesº beforeº the LORD:º 17 And of the restº² of the oilº that² [is] in² his handº shall the priestº putºª upon² the tipº of the rightº earº of him that is to be cleansed,ºª and upon² the thumbº of his rightº hand,º and upon² the great toeº of his rightº foot,º upon² the bloodº of the trespass offering:º 18 And the remnantºª of the oilº that² [is] in² the priest'sº handº he shall pourºª upon² the headº of him that is to be cleansed:ºª and the priestº shall make an atonementºª for² him beforeº the LORD.º 19 And the priestº shall offerºª² the sin offering,º and make an atonementºª for² him that is to be cleansedºª from his uncleanness;º² and afterwardº he shall killºª² the burnt offering:º 20 And the priestº shall offerºª² the burnt offeringº and the meat offeringº upon the altar:º and the priestº shall make an atonementºª for² him, and he shall be clean.ºª 21 And if² he² [be] poor,º and cannot get¹¹ª so much;²²² then he shall takeºª oneº lambº [for] a trespass offeringº to be waved,º to make an atonementºª for² him, and oneº tenth dealº of fine flourº mingledºª with oilº for a meat offering,º and a logº of oil;º 22 And twoº turtledoves,º or² twoº youngº pigeons,º such as² he is able to get;ººª and the oneº shall be² a sin offering,º and the otherº a burnt offering.º 23 And he shall bringºª them on the eighthº dayº for his cleansingº unto² the priest,º unto² the doorº of the tabernacleº of the congregation,º beforeº the LORD.º 24 And the priestº shall takeºª² the lambº of the trespass offering,º and the logº of oil,º and the priestº shall waveºª them [for] a wave offeringº beforeº the LORD:º 25 And he shall killºª² the lambº of the trespass offering,º and the priestº shall takeºª [some] of the bloodº² of the trespass offering,º and putºª [it] upon² the tipº of the rightº earº of him that is to be cleansed,ºª and upon² the thumbº of his rightº hand,º and upon² the great toeº of his rightº foot:º 26 And the priestº shall pourºª of² the oilº into² the palmº of his ownº left hand:º 27 And the priestº shall sprinkleºª with his rightº fingerº [some] of² the oilº that² [is] in² his leftº handº sevenº timesº beforeº the LORD:º 28 And the priestº shall putºª of² the oilº that² [is] in² his handº upon² the tipº of the rightº earº of him that is to be cleansed,ºª and upon² the thumbº of his rightº hand,º and upon² the great toeº of his rightº foot,º upon² the placeº of the bloodº of the trespass offering:º 29 And the restºª of² the oilº that² [is] in² the priest'sº handº he shall putºª upon² the headº of him that is to be cleansed,ºª to make an atonementºª for² him beforeº the LORD.º 30 And he shall offerºª² the oneº of² the turtledoves,º or² of² the youngº pigeons,º such asº² he can get;ººª 31 [Even]² such as² he¹ is able to get,ºª²² the oneº [for] a sin offering,º and the otherº [for] a burnt offering,º with² the meat offering:º and the priestº shall make an atonementºª for² him that is to be cleansedºª beforeº the LORD.º 32 This² [is] the lawº [of him] in whom² [is] the plagueº of leprosy,º whose² handº is not² able to getºª [that which pertaineth] to his cleansing.º

33 ¶ And the LORDº spakeºª unto² Mosesº and unto² Aaron,º saying,ºª 34 When² ye be comeºª into² the landº of Canaan,º which² I² giveºª to you for a possession,º and I putºª the plagueº of leprosyº in a houseº of the landº of your possession;º 35 And he that owneth² the houseº shall comeºª and tellºª the priest,º saying,ºª It seemethºª to me [there is] as it were a plagueº in the house:º 36 Then the priestº shall commandºª that they emptyºª² the house,º before² the priestº goºª [into it] to seeºª² the plague,º that all² that² [is] in the houseº be not² made unclean:ºª and afterwardº² the priestº shall go¹ª in² to seeºª² the house:º 37 And he shall look¹ª on²² the plague,º and, behold,² [if] the plagueº [be] in the wallsº of the houseº with hollow strakes,º greenishº or² reddish,º which in sightº [are] lowerº thanº the wall;º 38 Then the priestº shall go¹ª out² of² the houseº to² the doorº of the house,º and shut¹ª up²² the houseº sevenº days:º 39 And the priestº shall come againºª the seventhº day,º and shall look:ºª and, behold,² [if] the plagueº be spreadºª in the wallsº of the house;º 40 Then the priestº shall commandºª that they take¹ª away²² the stonesº in whichº² the plagueº [is], and they shall castºª¹ them into² an uncleanº placeº withoutº²² the city:º 41 And he shall cause the houseº to be scrapedºª withinº² round about,º and they shall pour¹ª out²² the dustº that² they scrape¹ª off² withoutº²² the cityº into² an uncleanº place:º 42 And they shall takeºª otherº stones,º and putºª [them] in² the placeº of those stones;º and he shall takeºª otherº morter,º and shall plaisterºª² the house.º 43 And if² the plagueº come again,ºª and break¹ª out² in the house,º after¹ that² he hath taken¹ª away²² the stones,º and afterº he hath scrapedºª² the house,º and afterº it is plaistered;ºª 44 Then the priestº shall comeºª and look,ºª and, behold,² [if] the plagueº be spreadºª in the house,º it² [is] a frettingºª leprosyº in the house:º it² [is] unclean.º 45 And he shall break downºª² the house,º² the stonesº of it, and the timberº thereof, and all² the morterº of the house;º and he shall carry [them] forthºª out¹ of²²² the cityº into² an uncleanº place.º 46 Moreover he that goethºª into² the houseº all² the whileº that it is shut¹ª up² shall be uncleanºª until² the even.º 47 And he that liethºª in the houseº shall washºª² his clothes;º and he that eatethºª in the houseº shall washºª² his clothes.º

The cleansing of that house.

48 And if² the priestº shall come in,ºªª and lookºª [upon it], and, behold,² the plagueº hath not² spreadºª in the house,º afterº² the houseº was plaistered:ºª then the priestº shall pronounce the house¹ clean,ºª²² because² the plagueº is healed.ºª 49 And he shall takeºª to cleanseºª² the houseº twoº birds,º and cedarº wood,º and scarlet,ºº and hyssop:º 50 And he shall killºª² the oneº of the birdsº in² an earthenº vesselº over² runningº water:º 51 And he shall takeºª² the cedarº wood,º and the hyssop,º and the scarlet,ºº and the livingº bird,º and dipºª them in the bloodº of the slainºª bird,º and in the runningº water,º and sprinkleºª² the houseº sevenº times:º 52 And he shall cleanseºª² the houseº with the bloodº of the bird,º and with the runningº water,º and with the livingº bird,º and with the cedarº wood,º and with the hyssop,º and with the scarlet:ºº 53 But he shall let goºª² the livingº birdº out¹ of²²² the cityº into² the openº fields,º and make an atonementºª for² the house:º and it shall be clean.ºª 54 This² [is] the lawº for all manner² of plagueº of leprosy,º and scall,º 55 And for the leprosyº of a garment,º and of a house,º 56 And for a rising,º and for a scab,º and for a bright spot:º 57 To teachºª whenº [it is] unclean,º and whenº [it is] clean:º this² [is] the lawº of leprosy.º
