Offering First Fruits

1 “Then it shall be, when° you enter° the land° which° the LORD° your God° gives° you as an inheritance°, and you possess° it and live° in it, 2 that you shall take° some° of athe first° of all° the produce° of the ground° which° you bring° in from your land° that the LORD° your God° gives° you, and you shall put° [it] in a basket° and bgo° to the place° where°° the LORD° your God° chooses° to establish° His name°. 3 You shall go° to the priest° who° is in office at that time° and say° to him, ‘I declare° this day° to the LORD° Imy God° that I have entered° the land° which° the LORD° swore° to our fathers° to give° us.’ 4 Then the priest° shall take° the basket° from your hand° and set° it down° before° the altar° of the LORD° your God°. 5 You shall answer° and say° before° the LORD° your God°, ‘aMy father° was a Iwandering° Aramean°, and he went° down° to Egypt° and IIsojourned° there°, bfew° in number°; but there° he became° a cgreat°, mighty° and populous° nation°. 6 And the aEgyptians° treated° us harshly° and afflicted° us, and imposed° hard° labor° on us. 7 Then awe cried° to the LORD°, the God° of our fathers°, and the LORD° heard° our voice° and saw° our affliction° and our toil° and our oppression°; 8 aand the LORD° brought° us out of Egypt° with a mighty° hand° and an outstretched° arm° and with great° terror° and with signs° and wonders°; 9 and He has brought° us to this° place° and has given° us this° land°, aa land° flowing° with milk° and honey°. 10 Now° behold°, I have brought° the first° of the produce° of the ground° awhich° You, O LORD° have given° me.’ And you shall set° it down° before° the LORD° your God°, and worship° before° the LORD° your God°; 11 and you and athe Levite° and the alien° who° is among° you shall brejoice° in all° the good° which° the LORD° your God° has given° you and your household°.

12 ¶ “aWhen° you have finished° Ipaying° all° the tithe° of your increase° in the third° year°, the year° of tithing°, then you shall give° it to the Levite°, to the stranger°, to the IIorphan° and to the widow°, that they may eat° in your IIItowns° and be satisfied°. 13 You shall say° before° the LORD° your God°, ‘I have removed° the sacred° [portion] from [my] house°, and also° have given° it to the Levite° and the alien°, the Iorphan° and the widow°, according to all° Your commandments° which° You have commanded° me; aI have not transgressed° or forgotten° any° of Your commandments°. 14 I have not eaten° of it Iwhile mourning°, nor° have I removed° any° of it while I was unclean°, nor° offered° any° of it to the dead°. I have listened° to the voice° of the LORD° my God°; I have done° according to all° that You have commanded° me. 15 aLook° down° from Your holy° habitation°, from heaven°, and bless° Your people° Israel°, and the ground° which° You have given° us, ba land° flowing° with milk° and honey°, as You swore° to our fathers°.’

16 ¶ “This° day° the LORD° your God° commands° you to do° these° statutes° and ordinances°. You shall therefore be careful° to do° them awith all° your heart° and with all° your soul°. 17 aYou have today° declared° the LORD° to be your God°, and Ithat you would walk° in His ways° and keep° His statutes°, His commandments° and His ordinances°, and listen° to His voice°. 18 The LORD° has today° declared° you to be aHis people°, a treasured° possession°, as He promised° you, and Ithat you should keep° all° His commandments°; 19 and Ithat He will aset° you high° above° all° nations° which° He has made°, for praise°, fame°, and honor°; and that you shall be ba consecrated° people° to the LORD° your God°, as He has spoken°.”

The confession of him that offereth the basket of firstfruits.

1 ¶ And it shall be,² when² thou [art] come inºª unto² the landº which² the LORDº thy Godº givethºª thee [for] an inheritance,º and possessestºª it, and dwellestºª therein; 2 That thou shalt takeºª of the firstº² of all² the fruitº of the earth,º which² thou shalt bringºª of thy landº² that² the LORDº thy Godº givethºª thee, and shalt putºª [it] in a basket,º and shalt goºª unto² the placeº which² the LORDº thy Godº shall chooseºª to placeºª his nameº there.² 3 And thou shalt goºª unto² the priestº that² shall be² in those² days,º and sayºª unto² him, I professºª this dayº unto the LORDº thy God,º that² I am comeºª unto² the countryº which² the LORDº swareºª unto our fathersº for to giveºª us. 4 And the priestº shall takeºª the basketº out of thine hand,º² and set it down¹ª² beforeº the altarº of the LORDº thy God.º 5 And thou shalt speakºª and sayºª beforeº the LORDº thy God,º A Syrianº ready to perishºª [was] my father,º and he went downºª into Egypt,º and sojournedºª there² with¹ a few,º² and became² there² a nation,º great,º mighty,º and populous:º 6 And the Egyptiansº evil entreatedºª us, and afflictedºª us, and laidºª upon² us hardº bondage:º 7 And when we criedºª unto² the LORDº Godº of our fathers,º the LORDº heardºª² our voice,º and looked¹ª on²² our affliction,º and our labour,º and our oppression:º 8 And the LORDº brought us forthºª out of Egyptº² with a mightyº hand,º and with an outstretchedºª arm,º and with greatº terribleness,º and with signs,º and with wonders:º 9 And he hath broughtºª us into² this² place,º and hath givenºª us² this² land,º [even] a landº that flowethºª with milkº and honey.º 10 And now,² behold,² I have broughtºª² the firstfruitsºº of the land,º which² thou, O LORD,º hast givenºª me. The prayer of him that giveth his third year's tithes.

12 ¶ When² thou hast made an endºª of tithingºª² all² the tithesº of thine increaseº the thirdº year,º [which is] the yearº of tithing,º and hast givenºª [it] unto the Levite,º the stranger,º the fatherless,º and the widow,º that they may eatºª within thy gates,º and be filled;ºª 13 Then thou shalt sayºª beforeº the LORDº thy God,º I have brought awayºª the hallowed thingsº out of² [mine] house,º and also² have givenºª them unto the Levite,º and unto the stranger,º to the fatherless,º and to the widow,º according to all² thy commandmentsº which² thou hast commandedºª me: I have not² transgressedºª thy commandments,º² neither² have I forgottenºª [them]: 14 I have not² eatenºª thereof² in my mourning,º neither² have I taken awayºª [ought] thereof² for [any] uncleanº [use], nor² givenºª [ought] thereof² for the dead:ºª [but] I have hearkenedºª to the voiceº of the LORDº my God,º [and] have doneºª according to all² that² thou hast commandedºª me. 15 Look downºª from thy holyº habitation,º² from² heaven,º and blessºª² thy peopleº² Israel,º and the landº which² thou hast givenºª us, as² thou swarestºª unto our fathers,º a landº that flowethºª with milkº and honey.º

16 ¶ This² dayº the LORDº thy Godº hath commandedºª thee to doºª² these² statutesº and judgments:º thou shalt therefore keepºª and doºª them with all² thine heart,º and with all² thy soul.º 17 Thou hast avouchedºª² the LORDº this dayº to be² thy God,º and to walk¹ª² in his ways,º and to keepºª his statutes,º and his commandments,º and his judgments,º and to hearkenºª unto his voice:º 18 And the LORDº hath avouchedºª thee this dayº to be² his peculiarº people,º as² he hath promisedºª thee, and that [thou] shouldest keepºª all² his commandments;º 19 And to makeºª thee highº above² all² nationsº which² he hath made,ºª in praise,º and in name,º and in honour;º and that thou mayest be² an holyº peopleº unto the LORDº thy God,º as² he hath spoken.ºª
