[A Psalm] of David.

  1 Blessed° be the LORD°, amy rock°,
  Who btrains° my hands° for war°,
  [And] my fingers° for battle°;
  2 My lovingkindness° and amy fortress°,
  My bstronghold° and my deliverer°,
  My cshield° and He in whom I take° refuge°,
  Who dsubdues° Imy people° under° me.
  3 O LORD°, awhat° is man°, that You take° knowledge° of him?
  Or the son° of man°, that You think° of him?
  4 aMan° is like° a mere° breath°;
  His bdays° are like a passing° shadow°.

David blesseth God for his mercy both to him and to man.

1 ¶ [[[A Psalm] of David.]]º Blessedºª [be] the LORDº my strength,º which teachethºª my handsº to war,º [and] my fingersº to fight:º 2 My goodness,º and my fortress;º my high tower,º and my deliverer;ºª my shield,º and [he] in whom I trust;ºª who subduethºª my peopleº under² me. 3 LORD,º what² [is] man,º that thou takest knowledgeºª of him! [or] the sonº of man,º that thou makest accountºª of him! 4 Manº is likeºª to vanity:º his daysº [are] as a shadowº that passeth away.ºª

He prayeth that God would powerfully deliver him from his enemies.

5 Bowºª thy heavens,º O LORD,º and come down:ºª touchºª the mountains,º and they shall smoke.ºª 6 Cast forthºª lightning,º and scatterºª them: shoot outºª thine arrows,º and destroyºª them. 7 Sendºª thine handº from above;º² ridºª me, and deliverºª me out of greatº waters,º² from the handº² of strangeº children;º 8 Whose² mouthº speakethºª vanity,º and their right handº [is] a right handº of falsehood.º

He promiseth to praise God.
