  O bmost beautiful° among women°?
  Where° has your beloved° turned°,
  That we may seek° him with you?”

  To see° whether athe vine° had budded°

Christ sheweth the graces of the Church,

4 ¶ Thou² [art] beautiful,º O my love,º as Tirzah,º comelyº as Jerusalem,º terribleº as [an army] with banners.¹ª² 5 Turn awayºª thine eyesº from²² me, for theyº² have overcomeºª me: thy hairº [is] as a flockº of goatsº that appearº² from² Gilead.º 6 Thy teethº [are] as a flockº of sheepº which go upºª² from² the washing,º whereof every one²² beareth twins,ºª and [there is] not² one barrenº among them. 7 As a pieceº of a pomegranateº [are] thy temples¹² withinº² thy locks.º 8 There² are threescoreº queens,º and fourscoreº concubines,º and virginsº without² number.º 9 My dove,º my undefiledº is [but] one;º she² [is] the [only] oneº of her mother,º she² [is] the choiceº [one] of her that bareºª her.
