NASB — Song of Songs 7 — KJV

Admiration by the Bridegroom

  1IHow° beautiful° are your IIfeet° in sandals°,
  O IIIaprince’s° daughter°!
  The curves° of your hips° are like° IVjewels°,
  The work° of the hands° of an artist°.
  2 “Your navel° is [like] a round° goblet°
  Which never° lacks° mixed° wine°;
  Your belly° is like a heap° of wheat°
  Fenced° about° with lilies°.
  3 “Your atwo° breasts° are like two° fawns°,
  Twins° of a gazelle°.
  4 “Your aneck° is like a tower° of ivory°,
  Your eyes° [like] the pools° in bHeshbon°
  By the gate° of Bath-rabbim°;
  Your nose° is like the tower° of Lebanon°,
  Which faces° toward° Damascus°.
  5 “Your head° Icrowns° you like aCarmel°,
  And the flowing° locks° of your head° are like purple° threads°;
  [The] king° is captivated° by [your] tresses°.
  6 “How° abeautiful° and how° delightful° you are,
  I[My] love°, with [all] your charms°!
  7IYour stature° is like° a palm° tree°,
  And your breasts° are [like its] clusters°.
  8 “I said°, ‘I will climb° the palm° tree°,
  I will take° hold° of its fruit° stalks°.’
  Oh°, may° your breasts° be like clusters° of the vine°,
  And the fragrance° of your Ibreath° like IIaapples°,
  9 And your Iamouth° like the best° wine°!”

  ¶ “IIIt bgoes° [down] smoothly° for my beloved°,
  Flowing° gently° [through] the lips° of those who° fall° asleep°.

The Union of Love

  10 ¶ “aI am my beloved’s°,
  And his bdesire° is for me.
  11 “Come°, my beloved°, let us go° out into the Icountry°,
  Let us spend° the night° in the villages°.
  12 “Let us rise° early° [and go] to the vineyards°;
  Let us asee° whether° the vine° has budded°
  [And its] blossoms° have opened°,
  [And whether] the pomegranates° have bloomed°.
  There° I will give° you my love°.
  13 “The amandrakes° have given° forth fragrance°;
  And over° our doors° are all° bchoice° [fruits],
  Both new° and old°,
  Which I have saved° up for you, my beloved°.

A further description of the Church's graces.

1 ¶ How² beautifulºª are thy feetº with shoes,º O prince'sº daughter!º the jointsº of thy thighsº [are] like² jewels,º the workº of the handsº of a cunning workman.º 2 Thy navelº [is like] a roundº goblet,º [which] wantethºª not² liquor:º thy bellyº [is like] an heapº of wheatº set aboutºª with lilies.º 3 Thy twoº breastsº [are] like twoº youngº roesº [that are] twins.º 4 Thy neckº [is] as a towerº of ivory;º thine eyesº [like] the fishpoolsº in Heshbon,º by² the gateº of Bathrabbim:º thy noseº [is] as the towerº of Lebanonº which lookethºª towardº Damascus.º 5 Thine headº upon² thee [is] like Carmel,º and the hairº of thine headº like purple;º the kingº [is] heldºª in the galleries.º 6 How² fairºª and how² pleasantºª art thou, O love,º for delights!º 7 This² thy statureº is likeºª to a palm tree,º and thy breastsº to clustersº [of grapes]. 8 I said,ºª I will go upºª to the palm tree,º I will take holdºª of the boughsº thereof: now² also thy breastsº shall be² as clustersº of the vine,º and the smellº of thy noseº like apples;º 9 And the roof of thy mouthº like the bestº wineº for my beloved,º that goethºª [down] sweetly,º causing the lipsº of those that are asleepº to speak.ºª
