The measures, parts, chambers, and ornaments of the Temple.1 ¶ Afterward he broughtºª me to² the temple,º and measuredºª² the posts,º sixº cubitsº broadº on the one side,º² and sixº cubitsº broadº on the other side,º² [which was] the breadthº of the tabernacle.º 2 And the breadthº of the doorº [was] tenº cubits;º and the sidesº of the doorº [were] fiveº cubitsº on the one side,²² and fiveº cubitsº on the other side:²² and he measuredºª the lengthº thereof, fortyº cubits:º and the breadth,º twentyº cubits.º 3 Then wentºª he inward,º and measuredºª the postº of the door,º twoº cubits;º and the door,º sixº cubits;º and the breadthº of the door,º sevenº cubits.º 4 So he measuredºª² the lengthº thereof, twentyº cubits;º and the breadth,º twentyº cubits,º beforeº² the temple:º and he saidºª unto² me, This² [is] the most¹ holyº [place]. 5 After he measuredºª the wallº of the house,º sixº cubits;º and the breadthº of [every] side chamber,º fourº cubits,º round aboutº the houseº on every side.º 6 And the side¹ chambersº [were] three,º one² over² another,º and thirtyº in order;º and they enteredºª into the wallº which² [was] of the houseº for the side chambersº round about,º that they might have² hold,ºª but they had² not² holdºª in the wallº of the house.º 7 And [there was] an enlarging,ºª and a winding aboutºª still upwardº to the side chambers:º for² the winding aboutº of the houseº went still upwardº round aboutº the house:º therefore²² the breadthº of the houseº [was still] upward,º and so² increasedºª [from] the lowestº [chamber] to² the highestº by the midst.º 8 I sawºª also the heightº of the houseº round about:º the foundationsº of the side chambersº [were] a fullº reedº of sixº greatº cubits.º 9 The thicknessº of the wall,º which² [was] for the side chamberº without,º [was] fiveº cubits:º and [that] which² [was] left¹ª² [was] the placeº of the side chambersº that² [were] within.º 10 And between² the chambersº [was] the widenessº of twentyº cubitsº round aboutº the houseº on every side.º 11 And the doorsº of the side chambersº [were] toward [the place that was] left,¹ª² oneº doorº towardº the north,º and anotherº doorº toward the south:º and the breadthº of the placeº that was left¹ª² [was] fiveº cubitsº round about.º 12 Now the buildingº that² [was] beforeº² the separate placeº at the endº towardº the westº [was] seventyº cubitsº broad;º and the wallº of the buildingº [was] fiveº cubitsº thickº round about,º and the lengthº thereof ninetyº cubits.º 13 So he measuredºª² the house,º an hundredº cubitsº long;º and the separate place,º and the building,º with the wallsº thereof, an hundredº cubitsº long;º 14 Also the breadthº of the faceº of the house,º and of the separate placeº toward the east,º an hundredº cubits.º 15 And he measuredºª the lengthº of the buildingº over againstº² the separate placeº which² [was] behindº² it, and the galleriesº thereof on the one side²² and on the other side,²² an hundredº cubits,º with the innerº temple,º and the porchesº of the court;º 16 The door posts,º and the narrowºª windows,º and the galleriesº round aboutº on their three stories,º over againstº the door,º cieledº with woodº round about,º and from the groundº up to² the windows,º and the windowsº [were] covered;ºª 17 To² that above²² the door,º even unto² the innerº house,º and without,º and by² all² the wallº round aboutº withinº and without,º by measure.º 18 And [it was] madeºª with cherubimsº and palm trees,º so that a palm treeº [was] between² a cherubº and a cherub;º and [every] cherubº had twoº faces;º 19 So that the faceº of a manº [was] toward² the palm treeº on the one side,²² and the faceº of a young lionº toward² the palm treeº on the other side:²² [it was] madeºª through² all² the houseº round about.º 20 From the groundº unto² above²² the doorº [were] cherubimsº and palm treesº made,ºª and [on] the wallº of the temple.º 21 The postsº of the templeº [were] squared,ºª [and] the faceº of the sanctuary;º the appearanceº [of the one] as the appearanceº [of the other]. 22 The altarº of woodº [was] threeº cubitsº high,º and the lengthº thereof twoº cubits;º and the cornersº thereof, and the lengthº thereof, and the wallsº thereof, [were] of wood:º and he saidºª unto² me, This² [is] the tableº that² [is] beforeº the LORD.º 23 And the templeº and the sanctuaryº had twoº doors.º 24 And the doorsº had twoº leavesº [apiece], twoº turningºª leaves;º twoº [leaves] for the oneº door,º and twoº leavesº for the otherº [door]. 25 And [there were] madeºª on² them, on² the doorsº of the temple,º cherubimsº and palm trees,º like as² [were] madeºª upon the walls;º and [there were] thick¹² planksº upon² the faceº of the porchº without.º 26 And [there were] narrowºª windowsº and palm treesº on the one side²² and on the other side,²² on² the sidesº of the porch,º and [upon] the side chambersº of the house,º and thick planks.º [1] 1K 6:2; Ezk 40:2, 17; Zc 6:12; Ep 2:20; 1P 2:5; Rv 3:12; 11:1; 21:3, 15.
