The Church prayeth for the illustration of God's power.1 ¶ Oh¹ that² thou wouldest rendºª the heavens,º that thou wouldest come down,ºª that the mountainsº might flow downºª at thy presence,º² 2 As [when] the meltingº fireº burneth,ºª the fireº causeth the watersº to boil,ºª to make thy nameº knownºª to thine adversaries,º [that] the nationsº may trembleºª at thy presence!º² 3 When thou didstºª terrible thingsºª [which] we looked¹ª not for,²² thou camest down,ºª the mountainsº flowed downºª at thy presence.º² 4 For since the beginning of the worldº² [men] have not² heard,ºª nor² perceived by the ear,ºª neither² hath the eyeº seen,ºª O God,º besideº thee, [what] he hath preparedºª for him that waitethºª for him.
