The Reign of the Righteous King.

[A Psalm] of Solomon.

  1 Give° the king° aYour judgments°, O God°,
  And bYour righteousness° to the king’s° son°.
  2 IMay IIhe ajudge° Your people° with righteousness°
  And IIIbYour afflicted° with justice°.
  3 ILet the mountains° bring° IIapeace° to the people°,
  And the hills°, in righteousness°.
  4 IMay he avindicate° the IIafflicted° of the people°,
  Save° the children° of the needy°
  And crush° the oppressor°.

  And their blood° will be bprecious° in his sight°;
  15 So may he live°, and may the agold° of Sheba° be given° to him;

David, praying for Solomon, sheweth the goodness and glory of his, in type, and in truth, of Christ's Kingdom.

1 ¶ [[[A Psalm] for Solomon.]]º Giveºª the kingº thy judgments,º O God,º and thy righteousnessº unto the king'sº son.º 2 He shall judgeºª thy peopleº with righteousness,º and thy poorº with judgment.º 3 The mountainsº shall bringºª peaceº to the people,º and the little hills,º by righteousness.º 4 He shall judgeºª the poorº of the people,º he shall saveºª the childrenº of the needy,º and shall break in piecesºª the oppressor.ºª 5 They shall fearºª thee as long² as¹ the sunº and moonº endure,º throughout all¹ generations.º 6 He shall come downºª like rainº upon² the mown¹ grass:² as showersº [that] waterº the earth.º 7 In his daysº shall the righteousº flourish;ºª and abundanceº of peaceº so long² as the moonº endureth.² 8 He shall have dominionºª also from seaº² to² sea,º and from the riverº² unto² the endsº of the earth.º 9 They that dwell in the wildernessº shall bowºª beforeº him; and his enemiesºª shall lickºª the dust.º 10 The kingsº of Tarshishº and of the islesº shall bringºª presents:º the kingsº of Shebaº and Sebaº shall offerºª gifts.º 11 Yea, all² kingsº shall fall downºª before him: all² nationsº shall serveºª him. 12 For² he shall deliverºª the needyº when he crieth;ºª the poorº also, and [him] that hath no² helper.ºª 13 He shall spareºª² the poorº and needy,º and shall saveºª the soulsº of the needy.º 14 He shall redeemºª their soulº from deceitº² and violence:º² and preciousºª shall their bloodº be in his sight.º 15 And he shall live,ºª and to him shall be givenºª of the goldº² of Sheba:º prayer² also shall be made¹ª for² him continually;º [and] dailyº² shall he be praised.ºª 16 There shall be² an handfulº of cornº in the earthº upon the topº of the mountains;º the fruitº thereof shall shakeºª like Lebanon:º and [they] of the cityº² shall flourishºª like grassº of the earth.º 17 His nameº shall endure² for ever:º his nameº shall be continuedºªªª as long² as¹ the sun:º and [men] shall be blessedºª in him: all² nationsº shall call him blessed.ºª
