The priests in their uncleanness must abstain from the holy things.

1 ¶ And the LORDº spakeºª unto² Moses,º saying,ºª 2 Speakºª unto² Aaronº and to² his sons,º that they separate¹ª themselves² from the holy thingsº² of the childrenº of Israel,º and that they profaneºª not²² my holyº nameº [in those things] which² they² hallowºª unto me: I² [am] the LORD.º 3 Sayºª unto² them, Whosoeverº² [he be] of all²² your seedº among your generations,º that² goethºª unto² the holy things,º which² the childrenº of Israelº hallowºª unto the LORD,º having his uncleannessº upon² him, that² soulº shall be cut offºª from my presence:º² I² [am] the LORD.º 4 What man soeverº of the seedº² of Aaronº [is] a leper,ºª or² hath a running issue;ºª he shall not² eatºª of the holy things,º until²² he be clean.ºª And whoso touchethºª any thing² [that is] uncleanº [by] the dead,º or² a manº whose² seedºº goethºª from² him; 5 Or² whosoeverº² touchethºª any² creeping thing,º whereby² he may be made unclean,ºª or² a manº of whom² he may take uncleanness,ºª whatsoever² uncleannessº he hath;

How they shall be cleansed.

6 The soulº which² hath touchedºª any such shall be uncleanºª until² even,º and shall not² eatºª of² the holy things,º unlessº² he washºª his fleshº with water.º 7 And when the sunº is down,ºª he shall be clean,ºª and shall afterwardº eatºª of² the holy things;º because² it² [is] his food.º 8 That which dieth of itself,º or is tornº [with beasts], he shall not² eatºª to defileºª himself therewith: I² [am] the LORD.º 9 They shall therefore keepºª² mine ordinance,º lest² they bearºª sinº for² it, and dieºª therefore, if² they profaneºª it: I² the LORDº do sanctifyºª them.

Who of the priest's house may eat of the holy things.

10 There shall no²² strangerºª eatºª [of] the holy thing:º a sojournerº of the priest,º or an hired servant,º shall not² eatºª [of] the holy thing.º 11 But if² the priestº buyºª [any] soulº with¹ his money,º² he² shall eatºª of it, and he that is bornº in his house:º they² shall eatºª of his meat.º 12 If² the priest'sº daughterº also be² [married] unto a stranger,ººª she² may not² eatºª of an offeringº of the holy things.º 13 But if² the priest'sº daughterº be² a widow,º or divorced,ºª and have no² child,º and is returnedºª unto² her father'sº house,º as in her youth,º she shall eatºª of her father's¹ meat:º²² but there shall no²² strangerºª eatºª thereof.

14 ¶ And if² a manº eatºª [of] the holy thingº unwittingly,º then he shall putºª the fifthº [part] thereof unto² it, and shall giveºª [it] unto the priestº² with the holy thing.º 15 And they shall not² profaneºª² the holy thingsº of the childrenº of Israel,º² which² they offerºª unto the LORD;º 16 Or suffer them to bearºª the iniquityº of trespass,º when they eatºª² their holy things:º for² I² the LORDº do sanctifyºª them.

The sacrifices must be without blemish.

17 ¶ And the LORDº spakeºª unto² Moses,º saying,ºª 18 Speakºª unto² Aaron,º and to² his sons,º and unto² all² the childrenº of Israel,º and sayºª unto² them, Whatsoeverº [he be] of the houseº² of Israel,º or of² the strangersº in Israel,º that² will offerºª his oblationº for all² his vows,º and for all² his freewill offerings,º which² they will offerºª unto the LORDº for a burnt offering;º 19 [Ye shall offer] at your own willº a maleº without blemish,º of the beeves,º of the sheep,º or of the goats.º 20 [But] whatsoever²² hath a blemish,º [that] shall ye not² offer:ºª for² it shall not² be² acceptableº for you. 21 And whosoeverº² offerethºª a sacrificeº of peace offeringsº unto the LORDº to accomplishºª [his] vow,º or² a freewill offeringº in beevesº or² sheep,º it shall be² perfectº to be accepted;º there shall be² no²² blemishº therein. 22 Blind,º or² broken,ºª or² maimed,ºª or² having a wen,º or² scurvy,º or² scabbed,º ye shall not² offerºª these² unto the LORD,º nor² makeºª an offering by fireº of² them upon² the altarº unto the LORD.º 23 Either a bullockº or a lambº that hath any thing superfluousºª or lacking in his parts,ºª that mayest thou offerºª [for] a freewill offering;º but for a vowº it shall not² be accepted.ºª 24 Ye shall not² offerºª unto the LORDº that which is bruised,ºª or crushed,ºª or broken,ºª or cut;ºª neither² shall ye makeºª [any offering thereof] in your land.º 25 Neither² from a stranger's¹ handºº²² shall ye offerºª² the breadº of your Godº of any²² of these;² because² their corruptionº [is] in them, [and] blemishesº [be] in them: they shall not² be acceptedºª for you.

The age of the sacrifice.

26 ¶ And the LORDº spakeºª unto² Moses,º saying,ºª 27 When² a bullock,º or² a sheep,º or² a goat,º is brought forth,ºª then it shall be² sevenº daysº under² the dam;º and from the eighth¹ dayº²² and thenceforthº it shall be acceptedºª for an offeringº made by fireº unto the LORD.º 28 And [whether it be] cowº or² ewe,º ye shall not² killºª it and her youngº both in oneº day.º

The law of eating the sacrifice of thanksgiving.

29 And when² ye will offerºª a sacrificeº of thanksgivingº unto the LORD,º offerºª [it] at your own will.º 30 On the same² dayº it shall be eaten up;ºª ye shall leaveºª none² of² it until² the morrow:º I² [am] the LORD.º 31 Therefore shall ye keepºª my commandments,º and doºª them: I² [am] the LORD.º 32 Neither² shall ye profaneºª² my holyº name;º but I will be hallowedºª amongº the childrenº of Israel:º I² [am] the LORDº which hallowºª you, 33 That brought you outºª² of the landº² of Egypt,º to be² your God:º I² [am] the LORD.º
