1 ¶ [[A Prayerº of David.]]º Hearºª the right,º O LORD,º attendºª unto my cry,º give earºª unto my prayer,º [that goeth] notº out of feignedº lips.º 2 Let my sentenceº come forthºª from thy presence;º² let thine eyesº beholdºª the things that are equal.º 3 Thou hast provedºª mine heart;º thou hast visitedºª [me] in the night;º thou hast triedºª me, [and] shalt findºª nothing;² I am purposedºª [that] my mouthº shall not² transgress.ºª 4 Concerning the worksº of men,º by the wordº of thy lipsº I² have keptºª [me from] the pathsº of the destroyer.º 5 Hold upºª my goingsº in thy paths,º [that] my footstepsº slipºª not.² 6 I² have called¹ª upon² thee, for² thou wilt hearºª me, O God:º inclineºª thine earº unto me, [and hear]ºª my speech.º 7 Shew thy marvellous¹ª lovingkindness,º² O thou that savestºª by thy right handº them which put their trustºª [in thee] from those that rise upºª² [against them]. 8 Keepºª me as the appleº² of the eye,º¹ hideºª me under the shadowº of thy wings,º 9 Fromº² the wickedº thatº oppressºª me, [from] my deadlyº enemies,ºª [who] compass me about.ºª²
