Great mercies promised unto the repentent.

1 ¶ And it shall come to pass,² when² all² these² thingsº are comeºª upon² thee, the blessingº and the curse,º which² I have setºª beforeº thee, and thou shalt callºª [them] to² mindº among all² the nations,º whither²² the LORDº thy Godº hath drivenºª thee, 2 And shalt returnºª unto² the LORDº thy God,º and shalt obeyºª his voiceº according to all² that² I² commandºª thee this day,º thou² and thy children,º with all² thine heart,º and with all² thy soul;º 3 That then the LORDº thy Godº will turnºª² thy captivity,º and have compassionºª upon thee, and will returnºª and gatherºª thee from all²² the nations,º whither²² the LORDº thy Godº hath scatteredºª thee. 4 If² [any] of thine be² driven outºª unto the outmostº [parts] of heaven,º from thence²² will the LORDº thy Godº gatherºª thee, and from thence²² will he fetchºª thee: 5 And the LORDº thy Godº will bringºª thee into² the landº which² thy fathersº possessed,ºª and thou shalt possessºª it; and he will do thee good,ºª and multiplyºª thee above thy fathers.º² 6 And the LORDº thy Godº will circumciseºª² thine heart,º and the heartº of thy seed,º to loveºª² the LORDº thy Godº with all² thine heart,º and with all² thy soul,º that² thou mayest live.º 7 And the LORDº thy Godº will putºª² all² these² cursesº upon² thine enemies,ºª and on² them that hateºª thee, which² persecutedºª thee. 8 And thou² shalt returnºª and obeyºª the voiceº of the LORD,º and doºª² all² his commandmentsº which² I² commandºª thee this day.º 9 And the LORDº thy Godº will make thee plenteousºª in every² workº of thine hand,º in the fruitº of thy body,º and in the fruitº of thy cattle,º and in the fruitº of thy land,º for good:º for² the LORDº will againºª rejoiceºª over² thee for good,º as² he rejoicedºª over² thy fathers:º 10 If² thou shalt hearkenºª unto the voiceº of the LORDº thy God,º to keepºª his commandmentsº and his statutesº which are writtenºª in this² bookº of the law,º [and] if² thou turnºª unto² the LORDº thy Godº with all² thine heart,º and with all² thy soul.º

The commandment is manifest.

11 ¶ For² this² commandmentº which² I² commandºª thee this day,º it² [is] not² hiddenºª from² thee, neither² [is] it² far off.º 12 It² [is] not² in heaven,º that thou shouldest say,ºª Who² shall go upºª for us to heaven,º and bringºª it unto us, that we may hearºª it, and doºª it? 13 Neither² [is] it² beyondº² the sea,º that thou shouldest say,ºª Who² shall goºª overº² the seaº for us, and bringºª it unto us, that we may hearºª it, and doºª it? 14 But² the wordº [is] veryº nighº unto² thee, in thy mouth,º and in thy heart,º that thou mayest doºª it.

Life and death are set before them.

15 ¶ See,ºª I have setºª beforeº thee this dayº² lifeº and good,º and deathº and evil;º 16 In that² I² commandºª thee this dayº to loveºª² the LORDº thy God,º to walk¹ª² in his ways,º and to keepºª his commandmentsº and his statutesº and his judgments,º that thou mayest liveºª and multiply:ºª and the LORDº thy Godº shall blessºª thee in the landº whither²² thou² goestºª to possessºª it. 17 But if² thine heartº turn away,ºª so that thou wilt not² hear,ºª but shalt be drawn away,ºª and worshipºª otherº gods,º and serveºª them; 18 I denounceºª unto you this day,º that² ye shall surely¹ª perish,ºª [and that] ye shall not² prolongºª [your] daysº upon² the land,º whither²² thou² passest overºª² Jordanº to goºª to possessºª it. 19 I callºª² heavenº and earthº to record¹ª this dayº against you, [that] I have setºª beforeº you lifeº and death,º blessingº and cursing:º therefore chooseºª life,º that² both thou² and thy seedº may live:ºª 20 That thou mayest loveºª² the LORDº thy God,º [and] that thou mayest obeyºª his voice,º and that thou mayest cleaveºª unto him: for² he² [is] thy life,º and the lengthº of thy days:º that thou mayest dwellºª in² the landº which² the LORDº swareºª unto thy fathers,º to Abraham,º to Isaac,º and to Jacob,º to giveºª them.
