  1 I will aextol° You, O LORD°, for You have blifted° me up,
  And have not let my cenemies° rejoice° over me.
  2 O LORD° my God°,
  I acried° to You for help°, and You bhealed° me.
  3 O LORD°, You have abrought° up my soul° from ISheol°;
  You have kept° me alive°, IIthat I would not bgo° down° to the pit°.
  4 aSing° praise° to the LORD°, you bHis godly° ones°,
  And cgive° thanks° to His holy° I dname°.
  5 For aHis anger° is but for a moment°,
  His bfavor° is for a lifetime°;
  Weeping° may clast° for the night°,
  But a shout° of joy° [comes] in the morning°.

  6 ¶ Now as for me, I said° in my prosperity°,
  “I will anever°° be moved°.”
  7 O LORD°, by Your favor° You have made my mountain° to stand° strong°;
  You ahid° Your face°, I was dismayed°.
  8 To You, O LORD°, I called°,
  And to the Lord° I made° supplication°:
  9 “What° profit° is there in my blood°, if I ago° down° to the pit°?
  Will the bdust° praise° You? Will it declare° Your faithfulness°?

David praiseth God for his deliverance.

He exhorteth others to praise him by example of God's dealing with him.

4 Singº ª unto the LORD,º O ye saintsº of his, and give thanksº ª at the remembranceº of his holiness.º 5 For² his angerº [endureth but] a moment;º in his favourº [is] life:º weepingº may endureº ª for a night,º but joyº [cometh] in the morning.º 6 And in my prosperityº I² said,º ª I shall neverº ² be moved.º ª 7 LORD,º by thy favourº thou hast made my mountainº to standº ª strong:º thou didst hideº ª thy face,º [and] I was² troubled.º ª 8 I criedº ª to² thee, O LORD;º and unto² the LORD¹ ² I made supplication.º ª 9 What² profitº [is there] in my blood,º when I go downº ª to² the pit?º Shall the dustº praiseº ª thee? shall it declareº ª thy truth?º 10 Hear,º ª O LORD,º and have mercyº ª upon me: LORD,º be² thou my helper.º ª 11 Thou hast turnedº ª for me my mourningº into dancing:º thou hast put offº ª my sackcloth,º and girdedº ª me with gladness;º 12 To the end that² [my] gloryº may sing¹ ª praise² to thee, and not² be silent.º ª O LORDº my God,º I will give thanksº ª unto thee for ever.º
