2 Chronicles 16:10

_ _ Asa oppressed some of the people the same time — The form or degree of this oppression is not recorded. The cause of his oppressing them was probably due to the same offense as that of Hanani — a strong expression of their dissatisfaction with his conduct in leaguing with Ben-hadad, or it may have been his maltreatment of the Lord’s servant.

Geneva Bible Translation Notes

2 Chronicles 16:10

Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for [he was] (d) in a rage with him because of this [thing]. And Asa oppressed [some] of the people the same time.

(d) Thus instead of turning to God in repentance, he disdained the admonition of the prophet, and punished him, as the wicked do when they are told of their faults.
