Isaiah 37:18-
19 Of a truth, LORD,
the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the
nations, and their countries, ...
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they [
were] no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.

7 They
helped every one his neighbour; and [
every one] said to his brother, Be
of good courage. ... So
the carpenter encouraged the

and] he that smootheth [
with] the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It [
is] ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, [
that] it should not be moved.

12 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image [
that] is profitable for nothing? ... The smith with

Isaiah 46:6-
7 They
lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, [
and] hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god:
they fall down, yea, they worship. ... They bear him upon the shoulder,
they carry him, and set him in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea,
[one] shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his trouble.
Exodus 32:2-
4 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which [
are] in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring [
them] unto me. ... And he received [

fashioned it with
a graving tool, after he had made it a molten
calf: and they said,
These [
be] thy gods, O Israel,
which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Jeremiah 10:3-
5 For the
customs of the people [
are] vain: for
[one] cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. ... They [
are] upright as the palm tree, but
speak not: they must needs
be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot
do evil, neither also [
is it] in them to do good.
Jeremiah 10:9 Silver spread into plates is brought from

[are] all the work of cunning [
men].
Hosea 8:6 For
from Israel [
was] it also:
the workman made it; therefore it [

shall be broken in pieces.
Habakkuk 2:18-
19 What
profiteth the graven image
that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and
a teacher of lies, that the
maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols? ... Woe unto him
that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold,
it [is] laid over with gold and silver,
and [there is] no breath at all in the midst of it.
