Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary

Isaiah 30:20

_ _ Rather, “The Lord will give”; the “though” is not in the original.

_ _ bread of adversity — He will not deny you food enough to save you in your adversity (1 Kings 22:27; Psalms 127:2).

_ _ be removed — rather, “hide themselves”; they shall no more be forced to hide themselves from persecution, but shall be openly received with reverence [Maurer]. Contrast with this Psalms 74:9; Amos 8:11.

Matthew Henry's Commentary
