Ezekiel 24:16-
17 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee
the desire of thine eyes
with a stroke:
yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall
thy tears run down. ...
Forbear to cry,
make no mourning for the dead,
bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and
put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and
cover not [
thy]
lips, and
eat not
the bread of men.
Job 27:15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and
his widows shall not weep.
Psalms 78:64 Their
priests fell by the sword; and their
widows made no lamentation.
Jeremiah 16:4-
7 They shall
die of grievous deaths; they shall
not be lamented;
neither shall they be buried; [
but] they shall be
as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be
consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be
meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth. ... Neither shall [
men]
tear [themselves] for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead; neither shall [
men] give them the
cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.
Jeremiah 47:3 At
the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong [
horses], at the rushing of his chariots, [
and at] the rumbling of his wheels,
the fathers shall not look back to [
their] children for feebleness of hands;
Amos 6:9-
10 And it shall come to pass,
if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die. ...
And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he
that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that [
is] by the sides of the house, [
Is there] yet [
any] with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say,
Hold thy tongue:
for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD.
