Ezekiel 15:2 Son of man,
What is the vine tree more than any tree, [
or than] a branch which is
among the trees of the forest?
Ezekiel 17:3-
10 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
A great eagle with
great wings, longwinged,
full of feathers, which had
divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took
the highest branch of
the cedar: ... Yea, behold, [
being] planted,
shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.
Ezekiel 20:47-
48 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold,
I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every
green tree in thee, and every dry tree:
the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces
from the south to the north shall be burned therein. ... And all flesh shall see that I the LORD have kindled it: it shall not be quenched.
Isaiah 5:1-
6 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved
touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in
a very fruitful hill: ... And
I will lay it waste:
it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will
also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
Isaiah 5:24-
25 Therefore as the
fire devoureth the stubble, and
the flame consumeth the chaff, [
so]
their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have
cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and
despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. ... Therefore is
the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath
stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and
the hills did tremble, and their carcases [
were]
torn in the midst of the streets.
For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand [
is] stretched out still.
Jeremiah 4:7 The
lion is come up from his thicket, and the
destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place
to make thy land desolate; [
and] thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
Jeremiah 7:20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn,
and shall not be quenched.
Jeremiah 21:7 And afterward, saith the LORD,
I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and such as are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their life: and
he shall smite them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, neither have pity, nor have mercy.
Jeremiah 24:8-
10 And
as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the LORD,
So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land,
and them that dwell in the land of Egypt: ... And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
Jeremiah 25:9-
11 Behold,
I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and
Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them
against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them
an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations. ... And this whole land shall be a desolation, [
and] an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon
seventy years.
Jeremiah 25:18 [
To wit],
Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof,
to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse;
as [it is] this day;
Jeremiah 44:21-
27 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah,
and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land,
did not the LORD remember them, and came it [
not] into his mind? ... Behold, I
will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that [
are] in the land of Egypt
shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.
Zechariah 1:6 But
my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets,
did they not
take hold of your fathers? and
they returned and said,
Like as the LORD of hosts
thought to do unto us,
according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
