Deuteronomy 29:24-
28 Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this land? what [
meaneth] the heat of this great anger? ... And the LORD
rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land,
as [it is] this day.
2 Chronicles 7:20-
22 Then will
I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it [
to be]
a proverb and a byword among all nations. ... And it shall be answered,
Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them:
therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
Isaiah 26:11 LORD,
[when] thy hand is lifted up, they
will not see: [
but]
they shall see, and
be ashamed for [
their] envy
at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.
Jeremiah 40:2-
3 And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place. ... Now the LORD hath brought [
it], and done according as he hath said:
because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
Lamentations 2:16-
17 All
thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and
gnash the teeth: they say,
We have swallowed [
her] up: certainly this [
is] the day that we looked for; we have found,
we have seen [
it]. ... The LORD hath
done [
that] which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old:
he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and
he hath caused [
thine] enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.
