Jeremiah 50:12-
13 Your
mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed: behold,
the hindermost of the nations [
shall be]
a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert. ...
Because of the wrath of the LORD it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate:
every one that goeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
Jeremiah 25:12 And it shall come to pass,

perpetual desolations.

an hissing, without an inhabitant. ... They shall
roar together like lions: they shall
yell as lions' whelps.
Jeremiah 51:43 Her
cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness,

Jeremiah 51:62-
64 Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this place,
to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever. ... And thou shalt say,
Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and
they shall be weary.
Thus far [
are] the words of Jeremiah.
Isaiah 13:20-
22 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there. ... And
the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in [
their] pleasant palaces: and
her time [
is] near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.

Isaiah 34:11-
17 But the
cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall
stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness. ... And
he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line:
they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
Revelation 18:2 And he
cried mightily with a strong voice, saying,
Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is

Revelation 18:21-
24 And
a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [
it] into the sea, saying,
Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down,
and shall be found no more at all. ... And
in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that
were slain upon the earth.
