New American Standard Bible (NASB ©1995) [2]

— That, if, the dream, ye shall not make known to me, one and the same, is the decree, and, a lying and wicked word, have ye agreed to speak before me, that meanwhile the time may be changed,—therefore, the dream, tell ye me, so shall I know that, the interpretation thereof, ye can declare for me.

Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary

Daniel 2:9

_ _ one decree — There can be no second one reversing the first (Esther 4:11).

_ _ corrupt — deceitful.

_ _ till the time be changed — till a new state of things arrive, either by my ceasing to trouble myself about the dream, or by a change of government (which perhaps the agitation caused by the dream made Nebuchadnezzar to forebode, and so to suspect the Chaldeans of plotting).

_ _ tell ... dream, and I shall know ... ye can show ... interpretation — If ye cannot tell the past, a dream actually presented to me, how can ye know, and show, the future events prefigured in it?

Matthew Henry's Commentary

See commentary on Daniel 2:1-13.

John Wesley's Explanatory Notes

Daniel 2:9

But one decree — I will not retract my sentence.
