The dedicated treasures.

1 ¶ Thus all² the workº that² Solomonº madeºª for the houseº of the LORDº was finished:ºª and Solomonº brought¹ª in²² [all] the thingsºª that Davidº his fatherº had dedicated;º and the silver,º and the gold,º and all² the instruments,º putºª he among the treasuresº of the houseº of God.º

The solemn induction of the Ark into the oracle.

2 ¶ Then² Solomonº assembledºª² the eldersº of Israel,º and all² the headsº of the tribes,º the chiefº of the fathersº of the childrenº of Israel,º unto² Jerusalem,º to bring upºª² the arkº of the covenantº of the LORDº out of the cityº² of David,º which² [is] Zion.º 3 Wherefore all² the menº of Israelº assembled¹ª themselves² unto² the kingº in the feastº which² [was] in the seventhº month.º 4 And all² the eldersº of Israelº came;ºª and the Levitesº took upºª² the ark.º 5 And they brought upºª² the ark,º and the tabernacleº of the congregation,º and all² the holyº vesselsº that² [were] in the tabernacle,º these did the priestsº [and] the Levitesº bring up.ºª 6 Also kingº Solomon,º and all² the congregationº of Israelº that were assembledºª unto² him beforeº the ark,º sacrificedºª sheepº and oxen,º which² could not² be toldºª nor² numberedºª for multitude.º² 7 And the priestsº brought inºª² the arkº of the covenantº of the LORDº unto² his place,º to² the oracleº of the house,º into² the most¹ holyº [place, even] under²² the wingsº of the cherubims:º 8 For the cherubimsº spread forthºª² [their] wingsº over² the placeº of the ark,º and the cherubimsº coveredºª² the arkº and the stavesº thereof above.º² 9 And they drew outºª the stavesº [of the ark], that the endsº of the stavesº were seenºª from² the arkº beforeº² the oracle;º but they were not² seenºª without.º And there² it is² unto² this² day.º 10 [There was] nothing² in the arkº save² the twoº tablesº which² Mosesº putºª [therein] at Horeb,º when² the LORDº madeºª [a covenant] with² the childrenº of Israel,º when they came outºª of Egypt.º²

God being praised giveth a visible sign of his favour.

11 ¶ And it came to pass,² when the priestsº were come outºª of² the holyº [place]: (for² all² the priestsº [that were] presentºª were sanctified,ºª [and] did not² [then] waitºª by course:º 12 Also the Levitesº [which were] the singers,ºª all² of them of Asaph,º of Heman,º of Jeduthun,º with their sonsº and their brethren,º [being] arrayedºª in white linen,º having cymbalsº and psalteriesº and harps,º stoodºª at the east endº of the altar,º and with² them an hundredº and twentyº priestsº soundingºª with trumpets:)º 13 It came even to pass,² as the trumpetersºªª and singersºª [were] as one,º to make oneº soundº to be heardºª in praisingºª and thankingºª the LORD;º and when they lifted upºª [their] voiceº with the trumpetsº and cymbalsº and instrumentsº of musick,º and praisedºª the LORD,º [saying], For² [he is] good;º for² his mercyº [endureth] for ever:º that [then] the houseº was filledºª with a cloud,º [even] the houseº of the LORD;º 14 So that the priestsº couldºª not² standºª to ministerºª by reason¹ of²² the cloud:º for² the gloryº of the LORDº had filledºª² the houseº of God.º
