Numbers 26:64
_ _ among these there was not a man ... numbered ... in the wilderness of Sinai The statement in this verse must not be considered absolute. For, besides Caleb and Joshua, there were alive at this time Eleazar and Ithamar, and in all probability a considerable number of Levites, who had no participation in the popular defections in the wilderness. The tribe of Levi, having neither sent a spy into Canaan, nor being included in the enumeration at Sinai, must be regarded as not coming within the range of the fatal sentence; and therefore it would exhibit a spectacle not to be witnessed in the other tribes of many in their ranks above sixty years of age.

Numbers 26:64
But among these there was not a man of them (g) whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
(g) In which appears the great power of God, that so wonderfully increased his people. |
Numbers 1:1- 2:34 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first [day] of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, ... And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses: so they pitched by their standards, and so they set forward, every one after their families, according to the house of their fathers. Deuteronomy 2:14- 15 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, [ was] thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them. ... For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed. Deuteronomy 4:3- 4 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you. ... But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God [ are] alive every one of you this day. 1 Corinthians 10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
