Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary

Hosea 11:11

_ _ tremble — flutter in haste.

_ _ dove — no longer “a silly dove” (Hosea 7:11), but as “doves flying to their windows” (Isaiah 60:8).

_ _ in their houses — (Ezekiel 28:26). Literally, “upon,” for the Orientals live almost as much upon their flat-roofed houses as in them.

Matthew Henry's Commentary

See commentary on Hosea 11:8-12.
