2 Chronicles 30:18-
20 For a multitude of the people, [
even]
many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun,
had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat
the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah
prayed for them, saying,
The good LORD pardon every one ... And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and
healed the people.
Ezra 9:15 O LORD God of Israel,
thou [art] righteous:
for we remain yet escaped, as [
it is] this day: behold, we [
are] before thee
in our trespasses: for
we cannot stand before thee because of this.
Isaiah 64:6 But we
are all as an unclean [
thing], and
all our righteousnesses [
are] as filthy rags; and
we all do fade as a leaf; and
our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Daniel 9:18 O my God,
incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and
behold our desolations, and the city
which is called by thy name:
for we do not
present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
Matthew 22:11-
13 And
when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man
which had not on a wedding garment: ... Then said the king to the servants,
Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast [
him] into
outer darkness;
there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Revelation 7:13-
14 And
one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are
arrayed in white robes? and
whence came they? ... And I said unto him, Sir,
thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which
came out of great tribulation,
and have washed their robes, and made them white in
the blood of the Lamb.
Revelation 19:8 And
to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and
white: for
the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
