_ _ Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? — They had given vent to their irritation, and perhaps threats, not to our Lord Himself, from whom they seem to have slunk away, but to some of the disciples, who report it to their Master.
