2 Samuel 7:2-
3 That the king said unto
Nathan the prophet, See now,
I dwell in an house of cedar, but
the ark of God dwelleth within
curtains. ... And Nathan said to the king,
Go, do all that [
is] in thine heart;
for the LORD [
is] with thee.
1 Kings 5:3 Thou knowest how that David my father
could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for
the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD
put them under the soles of his feet.
1 Kings 8:17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
1 Chronicles 17:1 Now it came to pass,
as David sat in his house, that David said to
Nathan the prophet, Lo,
I dwell in an house of cedars, but
the ark of the covenant of the LORD [
remaineth]
under curtains.

unto the name of the LORD my God:

rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for
the footstool of our God, and

chose me before all
the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath
chosen Judah [
to be] the ruler; and of
the house of Judah, the house of my father; and
among the sons of my father he liked me to make [
me] king over all Israel:
