Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary

1 Corinthians 1:16

_ _ household of Stephanas — “The first-fruits of Achaia,” that is, among the first converted there (1 Corinthians 16:15, 1 Corinthians 16:17). It is likely that such “households” included infants (Acts 16:33). The history of the Church favors this view, as infant baptism was the usage from the earliest ages.

Matthew Henry's Commentary

See commentary on 1 Corinthians 1:14-16.

John Wesley's Explanatory Notes

1 Corinthians 1:16

I know not — That is, it does not at present occur to my memory, that I baptized any other.
