Psalms 7:13

_ _ against the persecutors — Some render “for burning,” but the former is the best sense. Arrows for burning would be appropriate in besieging a town, not in warring against one man or a company in open fight.

Matthew Henry's Commentary

See commentary on Psalms 7:10-17.

John Wesley's Explanatory Notes

Psalms 7:13

Him — For the wicked. Ordaineth — Designs or fits for this very use. Of all sinners, persecutors are set up as the fairest marks of Divine wrath. They set God at defiance but cannot set themselves out of the reach of his judgments.
