Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary

Hebrews 6:14

_ _ multiplying ... multiply — Hebraism for superabundantly multiply.

_ _ thee — The increase of Abraham’s seed is virtually an increase of himself. The argument here refers to Abraham himself as an example; therefore Paul quotes Genesis 22:17, “thee,” instead of “thy seed.”

Matthew Henry's Commentary

See commentary on Hebrews 6:9-20.

John Wesley's Explanatory Notes

Hebrews 6:14

Genesis 22:17.

Geneva Bible Translation Notes

Hebrews 6:14
