And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.
And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire
of God: ... Hearken
now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall
be with thee: Be thou
for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring
the causes unto God:
And there I will meet with thee, and I will
commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between
the two cherubims which [are
] upon the ark of the testimony, of all [things
] which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.
And they put him in ward, that the mind of the LORD might be shewed them. ... And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
I would order
] cause before him, and fill my mouth
in the LORD with all thine heart; and
lean not unto thine own understanding. ... In
all thy ways acknowledge him, and
he shall direct thy paths.
