And his disciples say unto him, Whence
should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill
so great a multitude? ... And Jesus saith unto them, How
many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few
And Moses said, The people, among whom I [am
] six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month. ... And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? thou shalt
see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.
, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish
a table in the wilderness? ... Behold, he smote
the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give
bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?
He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall
we go and buy two hundred pennyworth
of bread, and give
them to eat? ... He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
And his disciples answered him, From
whence can a man satisfy these [men
] with bread here in the wilderness? ... And he asked them, How
many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
But he said unto them, Give
ye them to eat. And they said, We have
no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
When Jesus then lifted up [his
] eyes, and saw
a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence
shall we buy bread, that these may eat? ... There is a lad here, which
hath five barley
loaves, and two small fishes: but
what are they among so many?
