And while he lingered
, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought
him forth, and set him without the city. ... And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
] the whole land thereof [is
, and salt
] burning, [that
] it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the
overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: ... Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken
the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:
Except the LORD of hosts had left
unto us a very
small remnant, we should
have been as Sodom, [and
] we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour [cities
