They have belied
the LORD, and said, [It is
] not he; neither
shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:
I will scatter
them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers have known: and I
will send a sword after them, till I have consumed them.
Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not
be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed. ... And the people
to whom they prophesy shall be cast
out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for
I will pour their wickedness upon them.
And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as [are
] for death
, to death; and such as [are
] for the sword, to the sword; and such as [are
] for the famine, to the famine; and such as [are
] for the captivity, to the captivity.
They shall die
of grievous deaths; they shall not
be lamented; neither
shall they be buried; [but
] they shall be as dung
upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed
by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat
for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
And I will make
void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause
them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their
carcases will I give to be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold
, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword
, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will
make you to be removed
into all the kingdoms of the earth.
These two [things] are come
unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction
, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?
A third part of
thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter
a third part into all the winds, and I will draw
out a sword after them. ... So will I send upon you famine and evil
beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence
and blood shall pass through thee; and I
will bring the sword upon thee. I the
LORD have spoken [it
He that is far off
shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus
will I accomplish my fury upon them. ... So will I
stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness
toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I [am
] the LORD.
The sword [is
] without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that [is
] in the field shall die with the sword; and he that [is
] in the city, famine and pestilence shall devour him.
The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, ... For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when
I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; [As
] I live, surely
they that [are
] in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that [is
] in the open field will I
give to the beasts to be devoured
, and they that [be
] in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
