Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary

Jeremiah 2:33

_ _ Why trimmest — Maurer translates, “How skilfully thou dost prepare thy way,” etc. But see 2 Kings 9:30. “Trimmest” best suits the image of one decking herself as a harlot.

_ _ way — course of life.

_ _ therefore — accordingly. Or else, “nay, thou hast even,” etc.

_ _ also ... wicked oneseven the wicked harlots, that is, (laying aside the metaphor) even the Gentiles who are wicked, thou teachest to be still more so [Grotius].

Matthew Henry's Commentary

See commentary on Jeremiah 2:29-37.
